Seeking very seasoned Sr Linux Systems Admin, and seeking prior experience that includes hundreds of Linux servers environment – required to be very well versed in LINUX
***MUST HAVES***
- 95% CentOS linux environment
- Running hundreds of linux servers
- Only about 6 windows servers for EE’s – active directory
- VMWare ESX is preferred but any virtualization platform should be fine
- Ceph – rare data storage in conjunction with VM (by red hat)
- Apache tomcat, HA Proxies, Ansible
- MySQL, MariaDB
**Build and maintain own servers/networks so candidates must have following**
- Networking skills
- Interfaces on servers
- Exposure to configuring switch ports for servers
***NICE TO HAVE***
Zabbix, Zimbra, Puppet, Job Scheduler, docker, Foreman, Kuberneties, Apache Camel, ActiveMQ
SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, FTPS, and SSL VPN communication
Duties:
- Installing, configuring and maintain servers and networks.
- Overseeing system performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Performing system upgrades following new releases.
- Maintaining internal documentation through Wiki.
- Sustaining network integrity, server deployment, and security.
- Monitoring and maintaining networks, servers and processes
- Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
- Answering technical queries and assisting users.
- Responsibility for security.
- Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the system.
- Troubleshooting any reported problems.
- System performance tuning.
- Make recommendations for future hardware and software upgrades.
- Remote administration of equipment in co-location facilities
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 year experience working in a Linux environment.
- Minimum 3-5 year experience troubleshooting network and computer related problems.
- Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems, common commands, and administrative tasks.
- Linux scripting experience.
- Experience with many of the technologies outlined above.
- A strong desire to learn new technologies and products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Ability to independently research and find solutions to problems.
- Ability to help users over the phone.
- Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Applicable industry certifications are preferred but not required.
