Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in healthcare practice management, including 3+ years in a surgical or specialty practice. Knowledge of California healthcare regulations a plus.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in use of electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management systems (e.g., CureMD, Cerner, EPIC) and Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to create basic reports and analyze datasets using Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of clinic and financial management, billing and coding, compliance standards, and patient care best practices in a surgical setting.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.
Customer Service: Committed to providing an exceptional and compassionate patient care experience through service excellence and an actionable feedback program.
Marketing: Drive patient referral growth by networking with physician offices and contracting with managed care providers to expand the practice’s reach.

Responsibilities Operations and Workflow Management
Employ evidence-based practices—integrate best research with clinical expertise and patient values for optimum care and participate in learning and research activities to the extent feasible.
Oversee daily practice operations, including patient and provider scheduling, patient flow optimization, and resource tracking and management to ensure efficient care delivery.
Manage facility operations, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.
Initiate creation and coordination of interdisciplinary teams when appropriate to further the clinic’s goal to scale while maintaining an exception patient experience.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline patient care from pre-op to post-op, ensuring operational efficiency and consistency.
Integrate and maintain relevant technologies to ensure smooth operations and efficiency.
Patient Experience
Ensure a patient-centered experience by fostering a welcoming environment and optimizing referral, scheduling, and billing processes.
Address patient concerns promptly and facilitate clear communication to improve overall satisfaction.
Create a patient experience program
Community Engagement
Lead community outreach efforts to build the practice’s reputation and strengthen patient referral networks in the Palm Springs area.
Build relationships through collaboration with other health professionals and local businesses to create referral networks.
Create and maintain an online presence to broaden outreach and patient feedback tools.
Staff Supervision and Development:
Recruit, train, and manage clinical and administrative staff to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback and fostering a culture of professional growth and inclusivity.
Serve as a liaison between staff and providers, promoting open communication and teamwork.
Financial and Budget Management:
Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to ensure billing and coding accuracy, documentation issues, compliance, and maximization of reimbursements.
Prepare and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial reports to guide revenue growth and cost control.
Develop and manage budgets, monitor practice expenses, and implement cost-effective strategies.
Compliance and Quality Improvement:
Ensure the practice complies with California healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS standards.
Oversee credentialing, risk management, and quality improvement programs to maintain practice accreditation.
Create a survey schedule and conduct regular audits to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Strategic Planning and Growth Initiatives
Partner with leadership to set and execute growth objectives, including service expansion and patient acquisition strategies.
Analyze local healthcare trends and adapt practice strategies to meet the evolving needs of the Palm Springs community.
Identify and pursue collaborative opportunities within the healthcare community to enhance practice visibility and growth.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
Provide independent coordination and decision-making for the elective general surgery practice, in alignment with executive leadership.
Apply strong problem-solving skills to resolve operational challenges and implement solutions that improve practice performance and patient outcomes.
